Beautiful, but requires a bit of work.Feb 14, 2011
By So Mari I purchased this spinner as a gift. When it arrived, I was pleased that the colors and finish were just as beautiful as in the picture. It's sturdy and definitely constructed of high quality materials. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it arrives packaged flat and the instructions require that you bend the various heart layers around the center rose at 45 degree angles. Clearly, you can't bend them all 45 degrees in the same direction or there would be no definition, but the directions gave no further instruction, so I alternated bending forwards and backwards. While I am sure that some people will be comfortable doing this on their own, I suspect others might not, as the piece is slightly difficult to manipulate and I worried I was bending too much at some points and/or damaging the center. If you're ready to break out the tools and bend the metal on this piece, I'd recommend it without hesitation. Otherwise, despite how beautiful it is, I'd suggest you look for a different wind spinner.
